This Kickstarter has been a real joy to watch. It's never been crazy in any direction, just a steady push of love and support. It's humbling and gratifying to see all of you come together to make this project happen.

Looking through old Facebook memories today, I found a note I'd written with a handful of friends about how excited I was to have finished the Surgeon scripts, and how I thought the story had staying power.

That was nine years ago. It's been TWO years since the previous chapter was finished.

I've been waiting for this for a long time. Thanks so much for sticking with us. I think you're going to enjoy this last chapter.

Thank you all for your support! We funded! YEAH! Like we revealed in our last update, the first stretch goal is at $8,000 and is this sweet ass metal bookmark with art from Hedwin Zaldivar that will go out to all physical backers!

We still have a few days left, so spread the word! We appreciate your support so much!

While you wait for your awesome Surgeon merch, check out these campaigns from our friends:

Ryland Grant, the Ringo-Award Winner, brings us THE PEACEKEEPERS!

In the third installment in the series, all hell breaks loose in a quaint northern Michigan community when a team of in-over-their-heads bank robbers kills a beloved Sheriff’s Deputy. In a small town with BIG secrets, local detective Richard Holton races to peel back the layers of a depraved down home conspiracy before the bungling Federal Agents assigned to the case send everyone involved to ground.

You can get caught up on this series AND Aberrant, the Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Award winning title by the same team!

Check out The Peacekeepers here!

While you're checking that out, you should have a look at Insymmetry Creations LLC's campaign for HEIRS OF ISILDUR: The Perilous Prospects They're nearly at their goal!

Mykal Isildur is back from his supernatural sabbatical, and not a moment too soon. He returned with a clear vision and purpose, but unfortunately for him, so much changed while he was gone.

This is the third installment of the series and all issues are available, as well as some fantastic merch. Go give it a look!

The doctor is barreling towards goal, thanks to all your help! We need a little over $400 to get to our goal and then move onto some great stretch goals, which means free shit for you!

Since we are so close to our goal, now seems a good time to show off our first stretch goal to backers: a sweet metal bookmark to all physical backers at $8,000!

LET’S GO!!!

In the meantime, you can also support these amazing creators:

Our good friend Felipe Cagno brings you THE FEW AND THE CURSED: HIDDEN AWAY!

A supernatural post-apocalyptic Western if the apocalypse had happened back in 1840 and opened up the doors to all sorts of monsters, curses and demons. One day the world just dried up and whatever little water that was left, being now the most precious resource on the planet, started to be used as currency.

The Few and Cursed is a fast-developing comic book universe that started almost ten years ago with a Curse Chaser known only as the Redhead and then went on to publish over a dozen books so far.

This Kickstarter campaign aims to raise funds to produce, print and distribute the latest title of the franchise: Hidden Away - a one-shot standalone graphic novel set in the same universe without any need to read anything prior. For new readers unfamiliar with anything from the TFAC universe this is the perfect entry point :D

Think Goonies meets the Old West with a touch of supernatural.

Back THE FEW AND THE CURSED: HIDDEN AWAY now!

You should also check out AIR FORCE ONES by the always amazing Brian Lambert at Wingless Entertainment!

In a distant future, long after the fires of the Exodus War have subsided, tensions remain high between The Floating Islands of Elysia and Lower Earth. Elysia took victory and maintain their military superiority with robotic battle mecha of immense power called, Gears.

Lower Earth receives a beacon of hope when the young cadet, Nasir “Nas” Williams stumbles across the Legendary M.A.D. (mobile armored deployable) Gear call sign, Yasuke. But if Nas is going to end the tyranny of Elysia, he’ll need his crew with him, he’ll need the band of unlikely heroes called the Air Force Ones.

Check out AIR FORCE ONES here!

Share our campaigns with your friends who love comics! And as always, thank you so much for supporting us, our friends, and the indie comics community!

Curated Artisinal Mixtape, crafted with love (and madness and violence)
7 months ago – Sun, Feb 04, 2024 at 04:32:29 PM

Hiya, kids! Greetings from Athens, GA! John Pence here.

Thanks so much for the support so far. It's great to see this Kickstarter chugging uphill like the Little Engine That Could that it is.

I cannot thank you enough for YOUR support. It is literally what's going to make it possible for us to realize this dream. YOUR FRIENDS' support would also be freakin' amazing, so please feel free to share, talk-up, brag, etc. Our posts on social media get nerfed by the algorithm, so liking, commenting, sharing, etc. help our posts actually reach people.

Overwhelmed with love, as I have been, this past week, I put together what we used to call a "Mixtape" for you. Spotify makes it infinitely easier than hunting down all the records, cassettes, and CDs, but that doesn't mean it comes from a place of any less love and gratitude.

Thank you all again, and here:

These songs are things that I listened to while writing (or lettering, or editing, or approving art, or ...). They're also songs that hint at plot points. They also speak to madness, violence, betrayal, and rebellion. Some are fast, some are country, some are sad, some are evil. All are bangers.

Ear goggles on, volume up.

I might add songs as we go. IDK, feeling cute, might delete later.
